  • First of all, please introduce yourself. What is your favorite game?

Johan Scherft (hereinafter JOHAN) Dutch Visual Artist, Johan Scherft. He draws a picture or creates something with birds and moving parts with paper crafts. He was in charge of Cube Escape , an adventure game series by Rusty Lake.

When playing the game, I will look at the quality of the art of the art and the view of the world. I like puzzle games and adventure games, but I like various action games. I also like a game with a simple game and a volume, but it takes time recently, so long games have not been played.

-Why did you start developing this work?

Johan This work is a game I made for the first time. I wanted to make a game since before, but I knew that it was difficult, so I needed a trigger. To make games, you must have one art, such as stories, music and animation. In making this work, you also need a gameplay element called puzzle. It was very difficult to make a story tailored to all puzzles, but it was also a fun work.

The reason for the development of this work started, when I was drawing a picture for Rusty Lake games, I met people in the game industry. Game developers also helped the development of this work. I was not very much but I could not finish it.

  • Please tell me the characteristics of this work.

Johan my career is different from many other game developers. They usually receive programming education, but rather, traditional illustrative art (edges: artificial arts such as painting, sculptures, crafts, architecture, etc.) A long-fashioned romantic artist. So, the characteristics of this work will appear by many hand-drawn art. All backgrounds are hand-drawn and part of the animation is also handmade. I m glad that this hand drawn art creates a unique romantic atmosphere in this work. Because I made this work as a goal.

  • What kind of person do this work do you want to play?

Johan Movies are a game that can be enjoyed by those of any age of any age. For example, you can easily imagine the appearance of parents playing with your children. You can also help parents to solve the puzzles together and only children with children alone. But, of course you can enjoy enough alone. Children can not like cats, which are the main characters of this work? And adults may be worried about the behavior of humans coming out in this work. They have a little problem with their neighbors with each other.

  • Is there a work affected by this work?

We are inspired from various games such as JOHAN Samorost series and Rusty Lake works, and other adventure games and escape games. Also, I love old animations like Old Disney work. I like to listen to classical music, and when I listen, I can float the image and story in my head.

-Did you have an impact on development by new coronavirus?

Johan was not so much. Most of this work was completed before the infection of new coronavirus expansion. Also, I was used to focusing on working in my studio alone. Personally, it can be said that the change due to the new corona was so much.

And this work has a sense of corona, a corona. The people are almost all of them. It seems to be so busy, except that what is happening in the backyard. Well, even though this is completely coincidence.

  • Is it okay to deliver and revenerate this work?

Johan Yes, of course. It is fun to see the game videos, thanks to what you like to do, you can find anything you hate. It is also helpful to know what part of it is difficult.
