Microsoft: Sales in Gaming
Microsoft has published current figures for the last quarter of the current financial year that ended on September 30th.
Accordingly, total turnover in the gaming division increased by 16% compared to the first quarter of the previous year.
The Xbox hardware increased sales by 166%, which is due to the demand of Xbox Series X | S, which was not yet on the market in the same period of the previous year.
As far as sales with Xbox content and services concerns sales, sales increased by 2% compared to the strong previous year, with growth in Xbox Game Pass subscriptions and first party titles in part be balanced by decline in third-party titles.
In the first quarter, the gaming produced a record in monetization and commitment, so CEO Satya Nadella.
For the upcoming Christmas business Nadella said:
This Christmas season will bring our greatest range of content and exclusive games of all time, with three new triple-a-titles, including Halo Infinite, which are available through the Xbox Game Pass Subscription service, which will continue the best value for money offers in the gaming area.
For the current quarter, revenue growth is forecasted in the high single-digit area based on the high levels of the previous year when the new console generation was introduced.
For the Xbox content and services, a high level of revenue in the middle tens area is expected to expect a strong commitment to the Xbox platform in a Christmas quarter.
