National Team: Flick Assistant Sketched German World Cup

Hansi Flicks Assistant Danny Röhl can win the scarce World Cup preparation phase in November good pages.

"I am even happy if the common time before the tournament is short and compact. These eternally long preparations are not always helpful," said the 32-year-old in an interview of the "Süddeutsche Zeitung".

Because of the unusual World Cup appointment from 21 November to 18 December in Qatar, the football national team remain only a few days instead of the usual about three weeks to play on the tournament. The last Bundesliga match day before the World Cup ends on November 13th and thus only eight days before the opening game.

Röhl gave insights into Flicks World Cup Planning before the first test match of the year on Saturday (20:45 o'clock / ZDF) in Sinsheim, which had only suggested DFB Director Oliver Bierhoff only.

"Before the World Cup, that's how it will be like that: On Saturday is still a Bundesliga game day and Sunday or Monday we will sit together in the plane. A few days training camps, possibly already in the Arab room, briefly activating things you have learned, then another test game, and then it starts, "Röhl said.

For the national player, this load phase must not be a disadvantage in the middle of the Bundesliga season, said the former video analyst of RB Leipzig and flick-familiar to successful times at Bayern Munich.

"The competition is the highlight for the guys anyway. And maybe the unfamiliar rhythm even gives you new energy. They come into the sun, while it is dark, wet and cold," Röhl said.
